IFSS
The International Federation of Sleddog Sports (IFSS) is the global governing body for competitive sled dog sports, representing national federations and organisations involved in mushing disciplines around the world. Founded in 1992 and now headquartered in Brussels, the federation coordinates international competition and works to promote sled dog sports at a global level.
IFSS oversees multiple disciplines including sled racing on snow, skijoring and a range of dryland events such as canicross, bikejoring and rig racing. Through its network of national member organisations, the federation helps standardise competition rules, support athlete development and promote safety and animal welfare within the sport.
The organisation also administers major international competitions including the IFSS World Championships, Continental Championships and World Cup events, bringing together competitors from dozens of countries. Through these events and its member federations, IFSS provides the international structure that connects local clubs and national bodies within the wider global sled dog racing community
