Location Info

Clocaenog Forest in Denbighshire, Wales, is a large conifer plantation managed by Natural Resources Wales. It includes extensive forestry roads, gravel surfaces, and open rides.

Terrain varies from gentle slopes to more defined upland gradients typical of the Denbigh Moors. Surfaces are firm aggregate forestry tracks.

Course Description

As always Clocaenog is a slightly challenging course with one or two inclines and declines (come on, Wales does have hills!), hard packed trails with turns

Directions

From The North:

Take the A543 from Denbigh towards Pentrefoalas. Turn South on the B4501, go past the Visitor Centre on the left and at the end of the lake turn left to Pentre-Llyn-Cymmer and go through this hamlet, up a steep hill, past some farm buildings and out onto the moor. At 3.4 miles turn right at the crossroads and the venue is about one mile down this road. Bare left on the forest road (do not carry on the council road) and you will come to the venue after approx. 0.5 miles.

From The South:

From the A5 at Cerrigydrudion turn North on the B4501 towards Llyn Brenig. At 2.7 miles turn right to Pentre-Llyn-Cymmer and go through this hamlet, up a steep hill, past some farm buildings and out onto the moor. At 3.4 miles turn right at the crossroads and the venue is about one mile down this road. Bare left on the forest road (do not carry on the council road) and you will come to the venue after approx. 0.5 miles.

From The North & East:

Follow the A55(T) to A525 junction at St Asaph, head towards Denbigh taking the A543 for approx. 15km junction with B4501. Tun left (south) following the B4501 for approx. 8km, trn left to Pentre llyn cymmer, * continue through the village and climb up into the forest. Follow the organisers signs for the last 5km to the race site.

From The South:

Follow the A5 through Llangollen towards Betws Y Coed and turn right (north) at the junction with the B4501 at Cerrigydrudion. Follow the raod approx. 4km and turn right to Pentre llyn cymmer and follow from * (above).

The Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain

The Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain (SHCGB) is the UK’s national breed club dedicated to the promotion and welfare of the Siberian Husky. Formed with the permission of The Kennel Club in 1977, the organisation was established to educate owners, encourage responsible breeding and promote the working heritage of the breed in the United Kingdom.

The club brings together enthusiasts, breeders and owners who share an interest in Siberian Huskies, whether for companionship, showing or working activities. It organises Open and Championship dog shows each year and supports winter working rallies where owners and their dogs can participate in harness activities and trail events.

Alongside its events, the club provides guidance on responsible ownership, breeding ethics and the health of the breed. Through education, shows and working activities, the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain works to preserve the characteristics and traditional capabilities that define the Siberian Husky as a northern working dog.
